The Simmons Heritage
By 1947, Ernie "Pop" Simmons had succeeded where so many had failed...he successfully developed an all-around superior ventilated rib. The original Simmons Ventilated Rib was designed over 65 years ago to improve accuracy and handling. To this day, the Simmons Ventilated Rib remains the hallmark of the industry. The Simmons Ventilated Rib gives you much more to shoot with.
Dissapates Heat Waves
As your barrel heats from shooting, heat waves occur. These heat waves can obscure your vision. The Simmons Ventilated Rib quickly dissapates these waves to give you a clear line of sight.
Straight Sight ing Plane
The Simmons Ventilated Rib flattens out your sighting plane to help you quickly pick up your target.
Floating Rib action
The rib supports are dovetailed on top so that the Simmons Ventilated Rib is anchored to your barrel...allowing the rib to remain intact as the barrel expands and contracts.
Extra Strength Silver soldered posts
Simmons puts added strength into their ribs. The rib supports are silver soldered (brazed) onto the barrel.This process is ten times stronger than soft solder, plus the Simmons Ventilated Rib accepts blueing more evenly.
Eliminated Glare
Sandblasting the top surface of the receiver eliminates glare and improves the appearance of you gun.This service is standard on the model 12 Winchester, however there is an extra charge on other models as we must reblue the receiver after sandblasting.
