We now have the equipment to produce the coveted solid (matted) rib. Specifically, we are producing them for the Winchester® Model 12's and 42's. However, its a great upgrade for any gun!
Do you want your model 12 or 42 to stand-out from all others? Simmons offers the ultimate in receiver metal finish...the completely hand-finished receiver and barrell extension! All surfaces and edges are perfectly filed, squared and contoured. The process can only be accomplished by hand filing...machines are not able to produce this quality.
All of our restoration processes on the Winchester Model 12's and 42's are highly detailed. The model 12 and 42 stocks are dimensioned precisely to factory originals. The stocks have correct diamond patterns with 22 LPI checkering. The stain color on the wood matches the Pigeon grade that came from the factory. The solid or matte rib has 16 lines and and is attached with soft solder. We use a rust blue and hand buffing to match factory color.
